Newlands – Wilmington
‘Newlands’ is an on going project for Bruce and Sarra. The house is upside down in layout, so that the first floor front lounge overlooks the superb views of the Downs and the South Downs Way. Part of the extensive works involved redecoration and recladding the front of the house using sweet chestnut cladding. The front balcony had a new handrail consisting of metal uprights and stainless steel wires.
There is now a two storey and single storey extension to the side and the rear of the house which has increased the size of the upstairs kitchen and adds a bedroom downstairs.
The integral double garage has now been altered to form a playroom and a utility room, whilst internally there have been some structural alterations including redirecting the main staircase and installation of a large three door sliding patio door at the first floor level, leading out onto a new balcony at the rear.
The work at the present time consists of fitting out two new bathrooms, with a considerable amount of plumbing work in the near future to remove all the redundant pipework linked to the old oil boiler and then installation of the new boiler and associated pipework: all essential work.
